The Foolish
We never want to profess foolishness upon anyone, but the world we live in is showing many evidences of foolishness these days.
First of all, let’s compare what the Holy Bible has to say about the foolish and how we can see this in the news we hear each and every day.
The fool has said in his heart, There is no God. . .They are corrupt… Psalms 14:1
…. the foolish have blasphemed thy name Oh Lord. Psalms 74:18
A fool does not….give thanks unto the LORD Psalms 92
shame will be the promotion of fools. Proverbs 3:35
…. he that utters a slander, is a fool. Proverbs 10:18
It is as sport to a fool to do mischief…Proverbs 10:23
…. honour is not seemly for a fool. Proverbs 26:1
… the folly of fools is deceit. Proverbs 14:8
Fools make a mock at sin…. Proverbs 14:9
He that is soon angry deals foolishly… Proverbs 14:17
…. every fool will be meddling. Proverbs 20:3
…. heart frets against the LORD. Proverbs 19:3
The thought of foolishness is sin…. Proverbs 24:9
A fool doesn’t have the heart to get wisdom Proverbs 17:16
In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride…. Proverbs 14:3
A fool has no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself. Proverbs 18:2
According to the Holy Bible, it is foolish to deny God.
It is wise to have respect for God.
It is wise to thank God.
It is wise to love holy truth.
It is wise to believe God and confess His Christ.
If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. Romans 10:9-11 Living Bible
It is wise to walk in love and desire that all hearts discover God in and through Jesus Christ too.
The wisdom gained from loving and obeying God…
Drives foolishness out of us
Saves us from hell and destruction
Frees us from sin and shame
Jesus taught many times by way of parable. Once, He wanted to distinguish between the wise and the foolish; showing that they are as different as rock is to sand. In regards to the Gospel of Jesus Christ/the Word of God, the wise will hear and obey and stand strong; the foolish will not hear and will fall. You can read the entire parable here: Matthew 7:24-29
Paul, the apostle, wrote about the preaching of the cross and how it is received by those that are saved and those that perish. The saved believe the Gospel; the perishing do not believe.
The United States of America was founded on faith in God, Creator of all things, and that faith is being attacked today and seems to be slipping away from us, but we are still here, so it’s not too late to….
Forsake the foolish, and live….Proverbs 9:6
Walk with the wise and be wise; because a companion of fools shall be destroyed. Proverbs 13:20
